Engine Oil and Filter Change on 2012-2015 Honda Civic

Drain Old Oil
Locate the 17mm oil pan drain plug. Place a drain pan underneath, unscrew the bolt, and let the old motor oil drain out completely. Inspect the crush washer and replace if flattened.
Replace Oil Filter
Position the drain pan under the filter on the back side of the block. Unscrew the old filter counterclockwise. Prep the new filter by lubricating its rubber O-ring gasket with fresh engine oil, then screw it on clockwise by hand until snug plus 3/4 turn.
Refill Engine Oil
Reinstall the drain plug with a new crush washer. Refill the engine crankcase with recommended 0W-20 Synthetic oil. Run the engine for a minute to build pressure, check for leaks, and verify level with the dipstick.
