CV Axle Shaft Replacement on 2012-2015 Honda Civic
Guide on replacing a clicking driver-side front CV axle assembly. Mapped specifically for 2015 Honda Civic Si (2.4L I4 (K24Z7)).
Step 1
Remove Axle Nut and Separate Knuckle
Unstake and remove the 32mm axle nut. Separate the lower ball joint from the arm, allowing the wheel hub knuckle to swing outward.
🔧 Fastener: 32mm Axle Nut • Torque Spec: 134 ft-lbs
Step 2
Pop Axle out of Transmission
Place a pry bar behind the inboard CV joint casing against the gearbox shell. Gently pop the retaining clip loose and slide the axle shaft out of transmission seals.
Step 3
Insert New Axle
Lubricate inner splines, tap carefully into transmission until clip clicks, feed outer end through hub, tighten knuckle, and torque the axle nut.
