Transmission Fluid Change on 2012-2015 Honda Civic
Ensure smooth shifting by draining and refilling automatic ATF or manual MTF gearbox fluid. Mapped specifically for 2014 Honda Civic Si (2.4L I4 (K24Z7)).
Step 1
Drain Gearbox Fluid
Raise the car on jack stands. Locate the 3/8 inch square drive drain plug on the gearbox casing. Use a 3/8 drive breaker bar to loosen the belt and let the fluid drain out.
🔧 Fastener: 3/8" Square Drive Plug • Torque Spec: 36 ft-lbs
Step 2
Refill Casing Fluid
Clean off the magnetic drain plug, fit a new crush washer, and reinstall. Access the fill port (or automatic dipstick tube) and refill with exact spec fluid (ATF DW-1 for auto or Honda MTF for manual).
🔧 Fastener: Fill Port Bolt • Torque Spec: 33 ft-lbs
