Rear Shock Absorber Replacement on 2012-2015 Honda Civic
Resolve rear-end suspension bouncing. Easy guide on swapping the separate rear shock cartridge. Mapped specifically for 2014 Honda Civic Si (2.4L I4 (K24Z7)).
Step 1
Support Arm & Unbolt Lower shock
Remove rear wheel. Support the lower control arm with a hydraulic jack to take tension off the shock. Loosen and extract the lower shock mounting bolt.
🔧 Fastener: 14mm Lower Shock Bolt • Torque Spec: 43 ft-lbs
Step 2
Remove Top Shock Mount
Under trunk liner, remove plastic access caps. Hold the piston stem flat with a wrench while unbolting the 14mm top locknut. Drop the shock out.
🔧 Fastener: 14mm Top Stem Nut • Torque Spec: 22 ft-lbs
