Serpentine Belt Replacement on 2012-2015 Honda Civic

How to use the automatic tensioner to slide off a worn accessory belt and loop a new ribbed EPDM belt. Mapped specifically for 2013 Honda Civic Si (2.4L I4 (K24Z7)).

Step 1

Slacken Tensioner

Locate the automatic drive belt tensioner. Put a long-handled 19mm wrench on the tensioner hex projection. Pivot the tool clockwise to compress the internal spring tension and loosen the belt.

Step 2

Replace Belt

Slip the loose belt off the alternator pulley first. Slowly release the tensioner arm. Route the new serpentine belt around the crank, AC, and alternator according to the belt diagram.
