Upstream Oxygen (O2) Sensor Replacement on 2012-2015 Honda Civic
Swap the sensor located right in the exhaust header manifold to fix poor fuel economy and check engine codes. Mapped specifically for 2012 Honda Civic Si (2.4L I4 (K24Z7)).
Step 1
Unplug Harness Connector
Locate the upstream sensor on the top of the exhaust header. Depress the lock tab and disconnect the engine harness electrical plug.
🔧 Fastener: Electrical Clip • Torque Spec: None
Step 2
Unscrew Sensor
Use a specialized slotted 22mm (7/8") oxygen sensor socket to unscrew the old sensor counterclockwise. Apply high-temp anti-seize strictly to threads of the new sensor, screw in, and torque.
