Thermostat Replacement on 2012-2015 Honda Civic
Resolve cooling system overheating. Swap the thermostat assembly on the lower engine intake outlet. Mapped specifically for 2012 Honda Civic Si (2.4L I4 (K24Z7)).
Step 1
Locate Housing & Drain
Drain coolant. Locate the thermostat water housing assembly below the air intake system. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the housing outlet.
🔧 Fastener: Hose Clamp • Torque Spec: None
Step 2
Replace Thermostat Core
Remove the three 10mm bolts securing the housing cover. Take off the old thermostat and rubber seal. Install new thermostat with jiggle pin positioned upright.
🔧 Fastener: 10mm Housing Bolt • Torque Spec: 8.7 ft-lbs
