Spark Plug Replacement on 2012-2015 Honda Civic
Clear instructions for installing Laser Iridium spark plugs. Includes coil pack disassembly and torque specs to avoid head damage. Mapped specifically for 2012 Honda Civic Si (2.4L I4 (K24Z7)).
Step 1
Remove Ignition Coils
Remove the engine cover. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the 4 ignition coil packs. Use a 10mm socket to unscrew the retainer bolt on each coil pack, then pull the coil packs straight out of the cylinder head.
🔧 Fastener: 10mm Coil Pack Bolt • Torque Spec: 7.2 ft-lbs
Step 2
Replace Spark Plugs
Blow out spark plug tubes with compressed air. Use a 5/8 inch spark plug socket with an extension to unscrew the spark plugs counterclockwise. Check the gap on the new spark plugs (.044 in). Thread the new plugs in by hand first to avoid cross-threading, then torque to spec.
